When Ventures West Lodging was constructing two new Holiday Inn Express Hotels in the Calgary, Alberta area, they agreed to install a 4” Ayus activation device on the cold water main line of the hotel in Strathmore and compare it to the hotel in Airdrie (without an Ayus device).

Both hotels have comparable occupancy levels and similar water hardness In fact, the water in Strathmore (which has the device) has harder water than Airdrie.

AFTER ONE YEAR THE FINDINGS ARE CONCLUSIVE:

• the Strathmore hotel uses less detergent in its laundry operations and staff report that it’s easier to keep sheets clean
• the Strathmore hotel uses less chlorine for the pool
• the coffee and juice tastes better at the Strathmore hotel
• the Strathmore hotel has no scale at faucets and showerheads, while the Airdrie hotel has experienced a build-up of scale
• the energy bill at Strathmore over the same months was less than at Airdrie.
